Health, Hazards & Safety Policy
Purpose of the policy
To provide members with the rules for and understanding of the Safety parameters of this policy for our Co-op.
To provide members with a better understanding of health or hazardous materials in this Co-op.
Policy:
All household garbage removed from the units will be securely tied in plastic bags and placed in the garbage bins provided by the Co-op.
Large items such as furniture must not be disposed of in the Co-op. Special arrangements must be made by the member to dispose of such items or hire a company to remove such items. If the Co-op is forced to remove items because of a member's negligence, the member will be charged the cost of removal and dumping fees. The member will also receive a fine.
All apartment shopping carts must be stored in the underground parking of the apartments, in their designated area, and are to be returned there immediately after use.
Members must not store Large quantities of gasoline, oil, propane, paint/paint products, or other highly hazardous/flammable materials in their unit, and/or on their balconies, and/or in their carports/parking spaces.
Townhouses may store no more than ten (10) liters of gasoline, and only in government-regulated approved containers.
Any flammable gas container (Gasoline, Propane, Butane, Etc…) must be safely and securely stored at all times. Charcoal must be stored in sealed metal containers.
Members must not permit anything to block fire exits, stairs, corridors, or public thoroughfares. In addition, no objects or hindrances shall be caused/placed on sidewalk entrances/exits, vestibules, hallways, or any other parts of the common property.
Smoke detectors must not be disconnected or painted over. Water access hatches must not be tampered with or painted over.
Nothing whatsoever shall be dropped or allowed to fall or be thrown from windows, doors, stairways, balconies, rooftops, or passageways on Co-op property.
All members, associate members, residents, and guests operating motor vehicles within the Co-op. Will abide by the Co-op speed limit of five (5) kilometers. This is to ensure the safety of pedestrians and pets on Co-op grounds.
