Purpose of the policy

  • To provide members with the rules for which the balconies of their unit must be kept.

Policy

  1. Balconies are not to be used as a storage area.

  2. Indoor appliances and furniture may not be stored on  balconies.

  3. Small apartment size freezers are allowed to be place on  balconies but must be kept locked for safety reasons.

  4. Storage of bikes is allowed.

  5. Laundry, bedding, mops, etc shall not be hung on or over  balconies.

  6. Nothing whatsoever shall be shaken or dropped or allowed to  fall from balconies with specific reference to mops, bedding, laundry, keys, etc.

  7. The Co-op has the right to request a member to clean-up  unsightly balconies.

  8. There must not be any feeding of birds, squirrels, etc. on/from  the balconies as this attracts rodents and insects.

  11. Pet owners are not allowed to let their pets urinate or defecate on the balcony at any time for any reason.

  12. Items on balconies must not allow water to sit or collect on the surface, i.e. place a catch-basin under planters.

Procedures

  2. Refer to Section Rule 6 – Rule 6.01; Page 16 of the  Occupancy Agreement.
